THE EXHIBITIONSM. Charles Rhinehart: A Journey Through Eight Decades of Artistry
M. Charles Rhinehart was born in Southeast Missouri. He spent many years traveling to locations to sketch and paint in every state west of the Mississippi, as well as many other areas of the United States. Upon returning to Southeast Missouri in 2015, his children opened a gallery in downtown Ste. Genevieve, MO, where he continues to paint and display his artworks.
He has won numerous honors and awards for his paintings, including being recognized by both The Missouri Senate and The Missouri House of Representatives to honor his lifetime achievements in art and his status in Missouri’s History.
M. Charles Rhinehart’s paintings are done in oil on canvas or board. He shows the possibility of spirit existing within ordinary objects and things such as landscape and still life. The objects seem to be transparent and translucent and at the same time glowing within and without.
The exhibit was on display from September 15, 2018 through December 31, 2018.
