KELLERMAN FOUNDATION Get Involved
The Kellerman Foundation seeks community support and involvement for its variety of activities, events, and upcoming exhibitions. If you’d like to get involved with us, here are some ways you can participate.
Volunteers
Volunteers are used during special events to help improve visitor experience. Duties for these volunteers range from serving snacks to assisting in giving directions for walking tours or welcoming guests to an evening program. Special Event volunteers might also be asked to assist with set up and take down for events.
School/Scout Group volunteers help Foundation staff with large groups of area children in structured learning programs.
Volunteers work to monitor Heritage Hall during open hours. These volunteers embody a friendly welcoming environment for all members of the local community to come and learn about the history of Southeast Missouri.
Individuals with specialized skills such as photography or digital media can volunteer those skills for Special Projects being undertaken by the Foundation.
Membership & Funding
Membership and Funding seeks a volunteer who has an interest in membership recruitment and fundraising. The volunteer will assist with researching prospective foundation, corporate, and individual donors; coordinating special events; filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks.
Additional activities include assistance with membership renewals, drives, and cultivation. Candidates be personable, enjoy interacting with others, and should have good presentation, research, and computer skills. Self- led grant writing ventures are also welcome and encouraged.
Research & Exhibit Design
Research and Exhibit Design seeks interns currently attending college or graduate school to assist with the creation and betterment of current and future, permanent and temporary exhibits. The ideal candidate is creative, passionate about history and historic preservation, driven, and eager to get hands on experience in a museum setting.
Interns
The Kellerman Foundation for Historic Preservation uses interns, both part-time and full, in a variety of positions.
Acceptance into the internship program is based on academic achievement, interests, experience, and availability. Applications are rolling, but follow a semester timeline. Time commitments are flexible and dependent on the Museum’s needs. All internships are unpaid.
If you are interested in applying please contact the foundation at volunteer@kellermanfoundation.org for more information.
