Oliver Family

About

The exhibit also contains a large collection of Marie Watkins Oliver’s private letters and papers from the process during the creation of the Missouri State Flag, which began in 1908. Her personal correspondence with her colleague Mary Kotchitski revealed some very interesting aspects of the private activities involved in creating the flag prior to the acceptance of her design on March 22,1913.
Marie Watkins Oliver was also State Regent for the Daughters of the American Revolution, and her personal items from those experiences are contained in the exhibit.
