Multi-Use Museum Space
Dear friends & followers of our area’s efforts to preserve the heritage, culture, and stories of the southeast Missouri region...
The Kellerman Foundation for historic preservation would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone for their interest in our new endeavor: restoring the old City Hall at 401 Independence, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. We are working to restore the legacy space, which will offer a permanent home to the many archives and collections showcasing our region’s history. The space will also become a city wide use space for entertainment and events focused on the arts, humanities, architecture, culture, history, and music of our region.
The Kellerman Foundation, established in 2012, is a non-profit organization. Our current efforts for this historic space are supported by solely by generous donations from those interested in the historic preservation and education of our region’s role in shaping the area. All donations will be matched by a generous donor for the project, so please consider a tax deductible donation to help us meet the financial needs of this project. It’s through your donation that this monumental space will see a new life and future for use all to enjoy.
Important Goal
This is a sizable rehabilitation/restoration project, much like the Klostermann Block rejuvenation project of the 1990’s, which we all know and love as current and past business favorites, such as Mollies, The Digital Foundry, Celebrations Downtown, Ebb & Flow, Dalhousie Restaurant, and The Kelsen Gallery.
Since its purchase, past gifts have gone towards the roof replacement of the 16,000 sq. ft. structure, as well as the repair, maintenance, and replacement of HVAC components and existing plumbing to prepare the space for public use. Grants have been awarded that will help us achieve many important goals as we continue this project. Please consider a donation to help the project efforts towards this great space!
All donations will be matched by a generous supporter of the foundation’s mission.
